End of the Month

The end of the month is fast approaching, be sure to check your coupons to see what is about to expire. I did this earlier today before I head to Meijers. I was able to pick up Starkist tuna for $.17 a pouch and I also picked a pouch on Betty Crocker Instant potatoes for $.09. I found 2 coupons to save $.50 (they doubled to $1) on 2 cans of Campbell's Tomato Soup. I was able to get four cans of soup for $.72 total. I am glad we eat a lot of soup with grilled cheese in the winter. Meijer also has Kraft Singles on sale 2 for $4. I had two coupons for $.50 off when they doubled to $1. I was able to get two packages of cheese for $2. I try to shop at Meijer or Kroger's because they double coupons up to $.50. If something happens to be on sale the coupon goes further.

50% Off Red Sticker Clearance at Joann Fabrics

Joann Fabrics has an additional 50% off their red sticker clearance. If you are on their email list or mailing list you should have received a coupon for an additional 10% of your entire purchase starting December 31. This would make for some good deals. I happened to have a 20% of my entire purchase coupon. I found Crayola products marked down to $.97 and $1.97 with sale they we were $.48 and $.98 plus 20% off that. I also found some great deals in the Christmas stuff at 70% off plus additional 20% off the sale price. I love bargains!

Free Lee Jeans

I received an email from Lee Jeans. I am one of the lucky winners of a pair of Jeans in their Facebook promotion. They had to change the rules after the first day. I had signed up before they made the change. I should receive my jeans in 4 to 8 weeks I hope they fit.

I didn't get much blogging done over the past few weeks. I had two cases of the stomach flu. I missed most of Christmas. I am back hopefully. I also have a part time job in retail after the first of the year my hours should cut back some.

Christmas Recipe # 6 Carmel Corn

This is what everyone in my family wants for Christmas. I feel bad for the teenagers who can't have it because of their braces may be next year.

Carmel Corn

In a heavy sauce pan, heat to boiling and boil for 5 minutes. You want to keep stirring this while you are waiting for it to boil so it does not burn. It will cook fast and burn if you don't watch it.

2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla

You will need about 7 1/2 quarts of popped popcorn (not microwave popcorn). Place popcorn in 2 jelly roll pans, pour Carmel mixture over popcorn and toss gently. Bake at 200 degrees for 1 hour stirring every 15 minutes. Place on wax paper to cool and store in an air tight container.

I can't believe this week has flown by already. I have been fighting some kind of bug. I don't like being sick this time of year way to much to do. I am going to try to do my blogging either in the mornings on my days off and in the evenings on the days that I work. I didn't get much int he mail this week. I did receive a sample on Millstone coffee and a Kashi bar. I hope next the mailman brings me lots of freebies. I will also be guest posting over at A Mommy On A Mission. This is my sister's blog she is expecting her fourth child. She has asked me to help post any deals, freebies, or goodies I may find. I will do my best to keep everyone informed.

Save $.50 on Betty Crocker Potatos

There is a great printable coupon here for Betty Crocker Potatoes. It is in the ad on the right hand side. I had to refresh my screen once to get the ad to be able to print this coupon. Be sure to use your back button to print two of them. It will make for some free or almost free potatoes if you are able to use it were they double coupons. You don't eat instant potatoes use the coupon to pick up a couple of boxes to take to your local food pantry. I also noticed a coupon for Green Giant Frozen Vegetables that coupon when doubled would make for some very inexpensive veggies. You might want to keep refreshing your screen and see what other coupons may be there. I am going back to do that now.

Save $2 on Snuggle

Update I was able to find the dryer sheets for $1.87. I bought 3 to donate.

In yesterdays Red Plum insert there was a coupon to save $2 on Snuggle. It is reported that Snuggle dryer sheets are $1.86 a box at Walmart. I have not had time to check this out, but I will so if you have this coupon you could get some free dryer sheets at Walmart. If I am able to get some free dryer sheets they will be a great item to donate to local food pantry.

Target Deal

Target has introduced some new coupons one of them is to save $1 on Swiss Miss Milk Chocolate Cocoa. I was there yesterday and the Swiss Miss Cocoa was on sale for $.99 with coupon that would make it free. You find the Target printable coupons here. If you don't drink this product it would make great item to doante to a local food pantry. There also a coupon for $1 off two Ghirardelli products, you could combine that with the coupons I told you about in a previous post when they are on sale to make for some inexpensive candy. Target now limits the number of coupons you can print to 2 per computer.

Christmas Recipe #4 Hash Brown Casserole

I get requests to bring this to family dinners.

Hash Brown Casserole

2 cans (10 3/4 ounces each) condensed cream of potato soup, undiluted
1 cup (8 ounces) sour cream
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1 package (2 pounds) frozen hash brown potatoes cubed shaped
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

In a large bowl, combine the soup, sour cream, and garlic salt. Add potatoes and cheddar cheese; mix well. Pour into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. Top with Parmesan cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 55 to 60 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Serves 12 - 16.

Christmas Recipe #3 Jay's Favorite Chicken

This is great to serve on you are having guests over for dinner. It also makes a great meal to take to someone.

Jay's Favorite Chicken

4 boneless chicken breasts
4 slices of Swiss Cheese
1 10 3/4 ounce can of Cream of Chicken Soup
1/2 cup milk
1 box dry stuffing mix (2 cups)
1/2 to 1 stick of melted butter or margarine

Arrange chicken breasts in a greased 9 x 13 pan. Place a slice of cheese on each breast. Combine milk and soup together, pour over cheese covered chicken. Toss stuffing and butter together; sprinkle over chicken mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until chicken is done.

Serve with cottage cheese and cooked baby carrots.

Christmas Recipe #2 Mom's Vegetable Soup

It is great on a cold winter day served with some warm fresh bread. It is a quick any easy recipe.

Mom's Vegetable Soup

16 ounce package frozen garden vegetable blend

1 onion, chopped

4 potatoes, peeled and diced

46 ounce can tomato juice

3 cups water

1 tablespoon oil

1 teaspoon salt


Combine all ingredients in a large soup pot. Bring to a boil over medium heat; boil for 20 minutes. Reduce heat and simmer for one hour. Soup will thicken as it simmers. Makes 4 to 6 servings. I found it depends on on the juice I sometimes add extra water to thin it out.

Christmas Favorite Recipes #1 Reindeer Food

I am going to put some recipes of my favorite Christmas Goodies here on the blog for all to use. I like things that are simple an this is one of the favorite goodies people like to get as a gift. It is easy to make.

Reindeer Food

1 1 pound bag of Plain M & M 'S (red and green)
2 cups stick pretzels
2 cups Cheerios
3 cups Rice Chex
3 cups Corn Chex
2 cups unsalted peanuts (I usually leave out due to nut allergies)
1 package of White Chocolate Almond Bark ( I have found the bark that comes in a tray works better. I get it at Krogers.)

Mix all dry ingredients in a very large bowl or stock pot.

Melt chocolate almond bark following the directions on the package.

Pour over the dry mixture and stir until well coated.

Pour out on to wax paper to dry.

Once it is dry break up and put in an air tight container.

It is so easy to make. I usually measure out all of my cereals and pretzels at one time and place in plastic storage bags. When ready to make I just add my candy & nuts, melt my chocolate and I am done in no time. I make several batches of this every year.

December 1st. Printable Coupons

Since it is December 1st most printable coupons have reset. Yeah! I have put together a few of the good ones I have found so far.

Save $2 on two pack of Viva Paper Towels and $.75 on one Kleenex Product. These are manufacturers coupons that you can print at Kmart website. You can find them here. When combined with a sale you can get some cheap paper goods. I would checkout all of the coupons at the site. Update some of these coupons can only be used at Kmart. Sorry this cause any confusion.

Red Plum has a coupon to save $1 on M & M's when you buy two. You can print that coupon here. They have been having trouble with this coupon but keep trying I was able to print two of them.

Coupons.com has reset most of there coupons. You can find great coupons on Betty Crocker potatoes, frosting, cookie mixes, and a lot more items. The Spuds Potato $5 off coupon has reset. You can find these great coupons here. I would print the coupons when you see them because some of them won't last long.

Build A Bear Gift Card Offer

Build A Bear is currently offering a great promotion. When you buy $30 in gift cards you can buy $10 gift card for $5. You spend $35 and get $40 in gift cards. If you paired this with some of their coupons you could make your $40 go along way. If you had 2 of the $5 off a $10 animal you get get 2 animals for $10 plus tax. You could then use the other $30 in gift cards on accessories. There is also a $10 off $40 purchase coupon out there. If you had that coupon you could then get a few more accessories with your gift cards. I love to get the most for my money.

My mailman has been busy over the past two weeks. Here is some of what I got:

December issue of "Traditional Home", I signed up for a free 3 year subscription. I enjoy this magazine.

A coupon from Kraft First Taste try Jello's new Mousse Temptations for free plus a $1.50 off coupon for another one. If you are not a member of Kraft First Taste I recommend you sign up.

Vocalpoint sent out coupons for Del Monte Sun Fresh Fruit . It came with a rubber grip jar opener. The coupons are buy one get one free plus $1 off.

A coupon for One Free Stretch Island Fruit Company or FruitaBu Product a $4 off value.

I wrote to Campbell Soups about how much we like their Select Harvest Soups. In return for my email they sent me a coupon for $2 off any Campbell product. If there is something you like you might want to email that company and tell them how much you like their product. You never know what you may get in return.

Fisher-Price had a free DVD sample of "Precious Places". I requested one copy of this and some how with in days I received two of them. They will make great stocking stuffer for two of my nieces.

I got another sample of Oregon Chai Tea Latte. It will also be a great addition to someones Christmas stocking.

Kohl's also sent $10 gift cards to be used December 3 - 12. I will use it for a Christmas gift or birthday present.

Hallmark also sent out $5 off $20 purchase coupon. It came with 30% off coupon for boxed Christmas Cards.

This time of year you may receive some great coupons in the mail or your email I try to make the most of them.

I Won A Box of Cupcakes

Ok, so it is only a box of cupcakes from Little Debbie's but I still won. I got the coupon in the mail today. They had a sweepstakes back in October and they gave 125,000 coupons for a box of their chocolate cupcakes. I like cupcakes, I really like free cupcakes.

Stocking Stuffer Ideas for Men

While I was shopping on Saturday I came across a great stocking stuffer for the men on my list. Home Depot has small screwdrivers for $.49 cents. They come in either a flat head or a phillips head. At that price I got on of each for the men on the list. I also found at Menard's small cans of nuts priced at $.99 each.

Sunday Inserts

I checked out the upcoming insert schedule for the rest of the year. It looks like there will be only 3 Sundays with inserts. This weekend there is just one insert from Smart Source. There no inserts weekend after Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years. So in December 6TH & 13TH are only two weekends with inserts. I will be saving money on extra papers then. I like saving money but I also like getting coupons. I will try and post about a many printable coupons as I can during this busy time of year.

Santa Spuds at Target

I told you about the Santa Spuds in a previous post. I had to go to Target today I so surprised to find the shelf full of Santa Spuds. I had him in my hands when I noticed that Target has raised the price from $5.99 to $6.99. It is still good deal after using a $5 off coupon. I decide to wait and check at the other Target in the area. I told my sister over at A Mommy On A Mission about this and she they still are priced at $5.99 at her local Target. I may still get it at the new price or my wait until closer to Christmas to see if they go on sale. So don't be surprised if you see them at a new higher price.

Meijer Deals

I decide this is the last Saturday I am going shopping until after Christmas the stores were crazy. It could also be the fact I have a part time retail job and the last place I want to be on a Saturday is a packed retail store. My stops were very profitable and I enjoyed watching my bill go down. At Meijers I saved $50.34 by using coupons with the sale prices. I did get several items for free. The best deal was Sara Lee pies are 2 for $5. I was able to get French Silk pies for $1.50 after using my $1 off printable coupons I told you about in a previous post. I also still had some of the $1 off Sara Lee Cheesecakes coupons from a Sunday insert from awhile ago. I was able to get cheesecake for $1.49 each. I also had $1 off Mrs. Edwards single serving slices of pie so I got them for $.33 each. My freezer is now stocked with desserts and with the holidays fast approaching I am prepared. I also picked Select Harvest Soups for $.29 a can after my $1 off coupons. I used my free egg coupon that I got last week and got a dozen eggs for free. I bought much more but those are highlights of my trip.

I received an email from CVS with 2 different coupons available. You can save $4 on a $20 purchase. Te other is to to get their Green Tag free. This is a tag you attach to a reusable bag. Each time you use that bag, they will scan the green tag. After every 4Th visit you get $1 ECB. The tag is normally $.99, so it would take four visits to pay for the tag. That is a great coupon to use for sure,both coupons expire on 11/22/09. So check your email.

Several magazines in their December issues have these great coupons for Hallmark. You can see the list and location here. I get some of these publications for free. My only paid magazine subscription is to "All You" and I got that with a great discount at Amazon.com back in the spring. I never pay full price for a magazine I usually pick them up at Joann Fabrics with a 40% off coupon from time to time. Joann's does put their magazines on sale when they have 50% off coupon out. So you might check before you head there to pick up a magazine.

Sara Lee Pie & Reddi Whip for $2 at Meijer

I had to make a quick trip to Meijers. I went to get frosting, cookie mixes, tuna,and Chex Mix. I talked about the great savings on these items in a previous posting. Awhile I was there decide to check and see if their Sara Desserts were sale sure enough the pies were 2 for $5. I picked one pie and used $1 off coupon from here. If you don't see it use zip code 90210. I then decided to get some Reddi Whip for my pie. I headed to the dairy section found and thought I was getting a deal at $.96 after my coupon. I checked out and discover the the Reddi Whip is on sale for $1.50. So I only paid $.50, I would have bought more if I had only know there were no sale signs on it. I used a $.50 off coupon from last Sunday inserts. I don't know how long this sale is going on for but it would be good time to stock up on holiday desserts. I see myself heading back to Meijer in the near future to get some more dessert items.

When you combine the Redplum 75 cent off Target coupon from here with the manufacturer's coupon for 75 cents off from here . You will only spend 37 cents out of pocket. I know the Target pricing is regional so your out of pocket could be more or less.

You could also pick some of the Betty Crocker Cookie Mixes that are on sale. You can get coupons for them at both sites as well. This good way to brighten someone holidays with a simple donation. I think I will head there tomorrow.

Be sure to check your mail daily especially this time of year. I am getting lots of coupons and great offers. I am also getting great coupon offers in my email too. I am reading everything this days I would hate to delete a great coupon. My mail has had some great coupons and samples in it, plus a few freebies.

The December issue of "Everyday Food". I got a subscription using my Coke Reward points.

A coupon from Hallmark to get a tin of Free Butter Almond Toffee with a $35 purchase. I can also purchase it a reduced price if I buy 3 greeting cards.

A coupon from Bath & Body works for a free item of my choice when I spend $10. As with most coupons there are some restrictions. I am wondering if I buy a gift card if that would county. I think I will try all they can say is no. I then can use the gift card on something else.

The current issue of "Watch" magazine. There was a Free offer awhile back. It is from CBS television.

Build A Bear coupons. I know these will be useful in the near future. I have a shoppers reward card there. Since I have 22 nieces and nephews I able to to save on animals.

A sample of Always Infinity products. It came with $1 off coupon.

Awhile back when you became a fan of Herbal Essence Shampoo on Facebook. They sent you an update when you responded to the update you received a coupon for a Free Shampoo or Conditioner plus a $1 off coupon.

A sample from Pampers of their Extra Protection diapers. It has $1.50 coupon inside. I enjoy signing up for the Walmart samples because they arrive promptly.

Awhile back there was an opportunity ti sign up to be part of a Panera survey. I participated in the survey. I received a $2 gift card from Panera's as a thank you for taking their survey.

A sample from Nature Valley that contained a granola bar and a small bag for granola clusters. Plus money saving coupons.

A sample from Oregon Chai it a envelope of Chai Tea Latte Mix. I will use this as a great addition to a Christmas gift.

Vocalpoint also sent out coupons for Pantene shampoo and conditioner. I will hold on to them until I find a great sale.

I got another sample of Honey Nut Cheerios with $1 off coupons in enclosed.

I can't to see what I get in the next of mail.

Cottonelle 4 pack $.87 at Walgreens

I read about this great deal on It's Hip 2 Save. I was headed to CVS so I stopped at the Walgreens on the away. I was able to locate the sale toilet paper. I found the 4 pack but they weren't priced. I grabbed one and head to the front. When it scanned at the register sure enough $.87. I went back and grabbed two more since I had two $1 off coupons. I got three packages for $.61 total. So even if you don't have the coupon $.87 is still a good deal. While I was there I also picked up a can of French Onions, 2 jars of Olives and 4 Christmas Snickers bars. After coupons my total was $3.93.

Buy One Get One Free Hasbro Card Game Coupon

Be sure to check inside your USA Weekend supplement in today's paper. On page 3 there is a coupon from Hasbro. When you purchase one of the four card games listed you get another one of the four free. These games are usually priced at $4.99 to $6.99 at Target. They would make a great stocking stuffer or you could donate them to a local toy drive for an older child. You need to use the coupon fast it expires 11/30/09.

Santa Spud for only $.99

What is a Santa Spud? It is A Christmas Mr. Potato Head. I made a quick trip into Target just to check and I was able to get two of them for $.99. I still have on coupon left to save $5. So I will keep checking. The cashier was surprised when the coupon worked without beeping. She said that she had the coupon at home but didn't know what it would work on. She was as excited as I was about the great deal. I didn't have the heart to tell her there no more on the shelf. While I was there I picked another Rimmel Mascara it sells for $2.24 and I used a $2 off coupon. I planned on getting this yesterday at a different Target but the price was $3.99. Why pay more when I know I can get cheaper five miles away at a different Target store.

Walmart Deals

Last night I made a quick trip to Walmart to pick up a copy on the November issue of "All You" magazine. I was wanting another coupon to save $2 on Rimmel Mascara. While I was there I did find a few deals.

I purchased Reynolds liners for my crock pot. They were priced at $1.87 and I used a $1 off coupon. Today I checked the price at Target and Meijers both sell them for over $2 a box. I came home and found two more coupons. I will have to go back and pick a couple more boxes.

I also used some of my Kotex $1 off coupons on pantie liners. They are priced at $1 for a small package with my coupons free. I will be going back for more. If you have these coupons at home and don't use this product it would be great item to donate to women's shelter or food pantry.

If you by chance were one of the lucky ones to get the $3 off Sara Lee lunchmeat those coupons expire soon. Sara Lee lunchmeat is sold in the deli area of the store. It was priced at $3.98 a package I used my two coupons and got two packages of lunchmeat for $.98 each.

I just posted about this great word of mouth marketing program yesterday. Today I received in the mail coupons to try Pantene Shampoo or Conditioner. I got a coupon for $2 off any one product and several $1 off coupons to share. If you are not a member yet. You can sign up here. You never know what you might find in your mailbox from them.

Target Deals

After I left Meijers on to Target. I am looking for Santa Spud (a Christmas Mr. Potato Head). They are located in the front of the store in the aisle with the stocking stuffers, if you find them. The reason why I want them is they are priced $5.99 but after the $5 off coupon you pay $.99. I was able to get one but I will keep trying. You can get the coupon here. I will be giving them to a local toy drive this Christmas. I was able to print the coupon last month and this month. I have three coupons left.

I also picked up three bottles of Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce. They are priced at $2.24 a bottle. I used three $2 off coupons and paid $.24 each. I also found another coupon so I will grab another bottle when I go to check for a Mr. Potato Head.

If you receive the "All You " magazine in the November issue there is a coupon for $2 off Rimmel Mascara. I was able to find it at my Target store for $2.24. After my coupon I paid $.24. I have several teenage nieces and I will be able to make small gift bags for them using the items I have collect through out the year.


Also you might want to check the price of Hefty storage bags (in a pink colored box). Some of them have $.2o peelies on them and when you scan them they come $1. So after the peelie they are $.80 a box. I didn't need any right now but I did scan several different sizes and found one that came up $1. They are not marked on the shelf that way. The shelf price $2.29 a box. I just grabbed a several different sizes of bags and found a scanner. I don't how long this will last but storage bags for $.80 box is a deal.

Meijer Deals

I just got back from Meijers. I didn't buy much and I didn't spend much either after my coupons. Here is the breakdown:

Clorox Toilet Bowl Cleaner on sale for $1.50 used $.50 off coupon which the doubled. I spent $.50 per bottle bought two for that price. The key is never use more than two of the same coupon because they will only double two of them. I sometimes make a trip to the car or take my husband with me. Then we checkout separately and get to double more coupons that way.

Chex Mix is on sale for $.99 I bought two bags and used two $.50 off coupons from here. The coupon makes the Chex Mix free.

Betty Crocker Cookie Mixes are on sale for $1.79. I used $.40 cent off coupons from here and I also used a Meijer Mealbox Coupon for when you bought two from here. I was to get both mixes for $1 total.

Also purchased a can of Betty Crocker Frosting on sale for $1.49 used a $.50 off coupon from here. My final price $.49 and since I purchased three Betty Crocker items I received a coupon to get a dozen eggs free on my next visit. My total out of pocket for the three item $1.49 plus I am getting free eggs in the future.

I also noticed that their price on Starkist Tuna in the pouches is $1.17. If you use the $.50 of coupon from here the final price would be $.17 a pouch.

Betty Crocker pouches on Instant Potatoes are $.89 each. When you use the $.40 off coupon from their email list. You can get them for just $.09 a pouch. My church is collecting Instant Potatoes for the local food pantry. I have been printing the coupons and getting two packages at time when I head to Meijer.

Vlasic Sweet Relish is $1.09 and I had $.50 off coupons. I spent $.18 on two jars of relish. I printed this coupon sometime ago. I tired to find the link not there any more.

I spent $3.64 and saved $15.45. So check your coupons and see how much you can save.

I purchased 2 jars of relish, 2 cookie mixes, 2 bags of Chex Mix, 2 bottles of toilet bowl cleaner, 3 pouches of instant potatoes, and tub of frosting. I will get a free eggs in the future.

Cracker Barrel is adding a frequent diners program. You will be rewarded for dinning with them. You can get the details here. I love restaurants that offer these programs. I have several different cards in my wallet and have snag some free food along the way.

I found this great coupon that will save $1 on one can of Harvest Select Soup from Campbell's. My husband and I love these soups I am sure I can snag some for almost free. When I combine this coupon with the coupon available at Meijer Mealbox. Don't forget about using your back button to print two of these coupons. I got an email form Coke Rewards saying that the program is going to be extend in 2010. I hope more details will follow. I am happy because I have a bunch of points to use I like getting the free gift cards and Coke products.

Snuggle Fabric Softner for $.39

I know this is kind of late but last night at Meijer's I was able to get 3 bottles of Snuggle Fabric Softener for $.39 each. I had coupons for $3 off each bottle. So check your coupons to see if you still have this one. I sure the sale ends today. I will add them to my food pantry basket. I can't use them due to my husband skin allergies. This is an easy to help others in need and not be spending a lot of money in doing so.

My Mailbox

My mailbox wasn't was full this past week. I did get some great items and coupons.

Target coupons 2 sets on in my name and one in my husband's name.

Pink Nation ad from Victoria's Secret with a coupon for a free pair of pink cotton panty. No purchase required.

$21.50 in money saving coupons from Nestle and Gerber. I have no idea how I got that mailing list but with having several new babies in the family this year these coupons have been handy to have.

Target has some great printable coupons for toys. They expire on November 25, 2009. They would help on your early Christmas shopping. Be sure to check out the great deal on WII games also at Target. Duncan Hines Cake Mix $.47 each

Your prices may be different but Target has a printable coupon for $.50 off Duncan Hines baking product. If your Target happens to sell the cake mix for $.97 you can get them for $.47 each. I have discovered the prices vary from Target stores. I have two stores with 10 miles of my home. I shop one of them for clearance deals because them seem to be better. I shop the other on because their everyday prices are cheaper any were from $.20 to $.40 on most items. My Target stores will only allow you to use one of each their coupons in a transaction. I sometimes put my groceries in the car and go back in for more to use more than one coupon. Be sure to check out the printable Target coupons here.

Great Clearance Deals at Target

Be sure to check out the clearance at Target. I found 4 packs of charger plates on clearance for $1.48. I almost bought them at $4.98 a box. I happened to be near a different Target then one I shop at their fall clearance was cheaper than my store. So I picked plates for myself and a friend for almost nothing. If you have more than one Target in your area they do their markdowns at different times so you might want to check at several store if you that option.

Computer Issues

My desktop has died. So I am not going to be able to blog for a few days. Lucky for me I am married to an IT guy. He trying to figure out what the problem is, so for now I am using a loaner laptop. I am trying to get use to it. I will do my best in the days to come to post what the deals I find.

My CVS trip ..

Today I made a trip to CVS to pick up my free candy bar. CVS emailed me coupon for a free chocolate bar. I don't turn down free chocolate. I picked up several items that were on sale. I had my husband with me. The total was $31.06 after the coupons $6. He was surprised the look on his face was priceless. This what I bought:

4 - Mentos on sale $.99 used $.55 off coupon on each one

1 - 18 count box of Always Infinity Pads $5.29 coupon for a free box

1 - bag Nestle Crunch candy bars on sale for $2 had $1 off coupon

1 - Soft Soap Serum on sale $2.88 used CVS coupon $1.50 off plus a manufacturers $1off

1 - box of Wheat Thins on sale $2.50 used my $2 off Kraft First Taste coupon

1 - Absolutely Divine milk chocolate $1.99 used my email coupon from CVS got it free

1 - bag candy corn on sale $.99 no coupon

1 - snack size package of Twix bars on sale for $.99 no coupon.

I love watching my total go down. So check your coupons especially for the Mentos candy, they will make great stocking stuffer. The Soft Soap went the food pantry basket.

Awhile back I had printable coupons for Nestle bagged candy. They are on sale at CVS for $2 a bag. After the coupon it makes $1. It would make for some inexpensive trick-or-treat candy. The sale is only Sunday thru Tuesday.

Well I was never gone. I put in a lot of extra hours at my part time job. I forgot what is like to work long days. I can't wait to to get back to couponing. I was to tired to coupon.

My Mailbox

My mailman has been busy once again. Here are some of things that I received in my mailbox:

A coupon for a free box of Quaker Fiber & Omega-3 bars. I got this when I be came a fan on Facebook.

Aerie sent out to their A-Listers coupons for 20% entire purchase coupons. I actually got two coupons one for me and one to share.

I got to two coupons from Luvs. I had sign up for a promotion were they sent out coupons for $5 off a package of diapers. When my envelope arrived it was empty. It had not been sealed everything in it was gone. I emailed them and the relied with an an apology but didn't have any more of the promotional coupons. So they sent replacement coupons to be used on wipes and diapers. I can share these with my family members we have had two new babies and another sister is expecting.

A coupon to try Alouette Cheese Spread for free. It came with other coupons to share I am trying to figure how to use these as part of Christmas gifts for family members. They were sent to me from Shespeaks. It is a word of mouth promotional company.

My Land O Lakes Holiday Brochure arrived with a coupon for $.55 off 2 packages of Land O Lakes butter. The recipes look so yummy.

Meijer Deals

Today at Meijers I found several deals. Awhile back I had a printable coupon for Campbell cooking soups. I hope you printed it because at Meijers the cream of chicken and cream of mushroom soups are on sale for $.65 a can. The coupon is for 2 cans of soup. So you end up paying $.30 total.

You might look in your coupons for Bumble Bee tuna. Awhile back there was a $1 off any size package coupon available. The price of a small package is $.99. So if you have the coupon the tuna is free. I picked up a couple packages to add to my food pantry basket.

I also found Betty Crocker Instant potatoes for $.89 a package. I found several $.40 off coupons in my coupons once they were doubled. I ended up spending $.09 on each package. These will be added to the food pantry basket as well.

CVS Scan Coupons

Today when I was at CVS I scanned my tag on my key chain. I received 2 different coupons to use on Gold Emblem products. One of the coupons was for $1 off 2 Gold Emblem nuts, crackers, or pretzels. I was able to find snack size bags of nuts for $.99 each with the coupon I got 2 bags for $.99. I purchased 2 big bags of Gold Emblem Mix candy that are normally $3.99 a bag. I got both bags for $5, they were on sale 2 for $6. Plus I had a $3 off coupon for my birthday. So I ended up paying $3 for 2 bags of nuts and 2 bags of candy. I love a good deal. Remember to find the red scanner at CVS and scan your card each trip to see what coupons will print out. The more you use you card the more coupons you will get. You also get a coupon each quarter based on how much you have spent. Be sure to save any coupons for a free $25 gift card with any new or transferred prescription. Since I have had trouble with my tooth I have had several prescriptions to fill and have received several $25 gift cards.

I had to make a quick stop at my local Walmart. When I am there I make sure to walk the clearance aisle. They had cloth tote bags mark down to $1. The original prices $3to $10 a bag. I picked up a few for Christmas gifts.

In October 14 Red Plum insert there was a coupon for $3 off Snuggle Fabric Softener. Dollar General sells the liquid fabric softener for $3 a bottle. You can get free fabric softener. I will probably go get some to take to the local food pantry. We have sensitive skin issue and are not able to use this product. When I hear of a deal like this and I am unable to use the item. I still try to pick it up and donate it to a worthy cause.

Be sure to pick up the latest issue of this magazine. It has over $91 in coupons in it. I have a subscription but I try to pick on up every month at Walmart. This month the covers are different and the one I got in the store a sample of the Kotex Overnight Pads and money saving coupons for Kotex products. The issue I got in the mail had no sample in it and no coupons for Kotex products. You can go here to request this sample from Kotex. This magazine is only available at Walmart or by subscription. My niece's school had it as a magazine you could purchase at part of a fund raiser.

Feeling Better

I have been to the doctor. He has to get with my dentist to come up with the best course of treatment. Until them I will remain on antibiotics. My pain has reduces considerably. I am able to control it with Advil. It is going to be a long process to get rid of the infected area.

Under the weather

I have been alittle under the weather. I have developed an infection in my lower left jaw. I have no idea how I got, one thing I know is it is painful. I am on antibiotics and pain medicine. I am to see a specialist today. I spend most of my time sleeping. I find it hard to focus. I am waiting for the meds to kick in.

This is a great time to stock up or add to a food pantry donation basket.

Campbell's chicken noodle and tomato soups are on sale for $.59 each. The Miejer Mealbox has a coupon for $1 off 4 cans. I combined that with a $.40 off four cans manufacturers coupon which they doubled. Resulting 4 cans of soup for a total of $.56, another itme to stock up on or add to your food pantry donation basket.

25 cent Oatmeal at CVS

Mom's Best Naturals Oatmeal is $1 at CVS. You can usethis coupon to get for 25 cents a box. You can print 2 coupons and get a great deal on oatmeal. I purchased 2 boxes to add to my food pantry donation. While at CVS grab a gallon of 2% milk on sale for $1.99 and you get $1 Extra Care Buck (ECB) back. I purchased 2 boxes of oatmeal & a gallon of milk. I paid $2.49 and got $1 ECB back.

Food Pantries

In this trying times local food pantries are running low. Their donations are down and they are serving more families. The one thing we all can do is use are coupons wisely. I use coupons to get items free or almost free. I then donate these items to a local food pantry. I am not spending much more on my groceries and I am helping someone else in the process. I place the items in a basket when I am putting my groceries away. When the basket is full, I make a trip to one of the local pantries. If I hear that there is a need before the basket is full I then make the trip to that pantry. Today I took five full bags to the local food pantry. I find I am giving more and I am actually spendning less just by using my coupons wisely.

Operation Christmas Child

I know it is only September, but I received my monthly newsletter from Samaritans Purse. In it was an insert for Operation Christmas Child. This is something my family and I do every year. We started out sponsoring 5 boxes the first year and last year we put to together 40 boxes. It is a very simple project and great thing for families to do. You just fill a shoe box with items for a child in need. A list of items can be found their website. There is a deadline for collection. We collect items year around. I use my coupons to get almost free toothpaste, tooth brushes and soap for the boxes. We stock up on school supplies and look for great deals on clearance toys and other small items. We get together for a dinner and after we eat the real fun begins. The boxes are wrapped and filled with items we have collected. We place a card in each box and lastly we pray over the boxes. They ask for a donation to help with the cost of the distributing of the boxes. Last year they handed out 1.2 million shoe boxes around the world. Nabisco offer at Meijer

The promotion is almost over but if you buy $10 worth of Nabisco products. You can $10 off Hanes products. So you can get some cheap or almost free underwear for your children. The catch is you have to buy all of the products in the same transaction. I spent 10.98 in Nabisco products used 3 $1 off coupons making it $7.98. I got 2 packages of t-shirts and a package of sock for my husband for $12.50 plus tax after they took the $10 off the Hanes products. I also got him three pair of pants for $5 each.

$5 Casual Pants at Meijer

I just found a great deal my local Meijer store they some of their men's casual pants on clearance for $5 a pair. There were limited sizes, mostly black, navy, and few khaki colored. You want to look for Falls Creek Supreme Khaki's. The ones I got are pleated, stain resistant and wrinkle resistant. Most were marked with a clearance sticker for $7.19 but rang up at the $5 price. I was going to be tickled at $7.19 a pair.
